Turnbull Lab ............

Molecular Glycobiology of Heparan Sulphates
School of Biosciences, University of Birmingham

Our lab studies Heparan Sulphates: a family of complex polysaccharides which are multifunctional cell regulators. We are studying the structure and function of these fascinating molecules, particularly in the brain and nervous system, using biochemical, molecular biology, cell biology and model organism approaches. Current work in the lab is funded by grants from the MRC, BBSRC, EU, HFSP and GlaxoSmithKline, and their generous support is gratefully acknowledged.
