I am an MSci student and have spent the last three years studying my Undergraduate Degree in Biochemistry at the University of Birmingham. I’ve studied a range of areas during my degree, and recently discovered that I was particularly interested in proteomics. I started my project with the Cooper lab in October 2021. My project involves using Liquid Extraction Surface Analysis (LESA) and LESA+pulled tips to try and find specific proteins that are low in abundance. My main goals are to discover why GDP-binding proteins disappear when using certain techniques, and to find a way of getting these proteins to consistently appear.
